| Do you run workshops? |
We don't run workshops as we are more of a resource centre. However we do buy in Community artists to run workshops on our Open Days and we do run Super Saturday Sample Sessions in Artrageous, both of which are free. We also run workshop at our Scrapstore Roadshows. Also people hire out our Training room to run workshops. Go to the What's on page to find out more.
If you need a workshop provider do give us a call as we may be able to put you in touch with someone and point you in the right direction.
Alternatively you could try the following organisations:
Creative Learning Agency:
Creative Learning Agency (CLA) is a publicly funded web-based news and information service which provides educators and artists with information and support for arts education work. It has an online searchable database of artists working in all artforms and with all age groups and abilities. |
| Resource Futures (formally the Recycling Consortium): |
| Education Officers from Resource Futures work in schools, running assemblies and lessons. They offer curriculum-linked assemblies and workshops, professional teachers' resources, assistance in setting up recycling and composting schemes and in-service training. |
| When are you open? |
| Both Children's Scrapstore & Artrageous are open 10am to 5pm Monday to Saturday all year around apart from between Christmas & New Year. |
| Where are you? |

Can I become a member?
Membership is offered to groups working in creative play, care, educational or therapeutic settings. We don t offer membership to families. Go to the Membership information page to find out more. |
| Can I bring children along? |
| Unfortunately due to health and safety issues we can only allow children over the age of 7 years to go in to the warehouse. Children of any age are welcome in Artrageous and we have a lovely area especially for them with to play and get creative. |
| Are there other Scrapstores in the UK? |
There's over 100 Scrapstores in the UK. We all operate differently i.e. opening times, types of resources, membership criteria, cost of scrap. Have a look at the directory of Scrapstores for more information.
There are also Scrapstore elsewhere in the world. One of the first was in Reggio Emilia in Italy that grew from the destruction of war. The town re-used what was left after bombings to build a school and the make and do and re-use attitude grew from there. |
| What kind of things are in the Scrap warehouse? |
All sorts! We get all manner of things donated be it complete items off cuts from industrial processes. We take in anything safe that can re-used in a creative way.
We normally have a good stock of card and paper in all sizes and colours. We get a big supply of rip stop (hot air balloon material) every week again in all bright colours and sizes. Other items include coloured netting, foam, wood, books, CDs, plastic put and tubs, ring binders, stationery & &the list goes on. Have a look at the Gallery to find out what kind of things are in the warehouse. |
| How much is the scrap? |
| We ask for donations for resources. For a full trolley of scrap the suggested donation is just £12.50. We suggest you pay less money for less scrap and more money for more. |
| Do I have to be a member to use Artrageous? |
| No.Artrageous is open to the public and all profits go to support the charity, Children's Scrapstore. |
