The Scrapstore Roadshow Project is Children Scrapstore's rural outreach service. A roadshow is where we fill our van with scrap and take it to a convenient community location and turn that venue in to a Scrapstore for the day. We also provide two free scrap art workshops at the events. We are running 11 Roadshows in 2009 - 4 in Bath & North East Somerset, 4 in North Somerset, and 3 in South Gloucestershire.
Roadshows are open to everyone, not just Scrapstore members and children are welcome with an adult. Entrance is free to Scrapstore members, £2 per group to non-members.
Our low cost creative resources are available at a suggested donation of just £4 a full bin bag and we also sell a range of art and craft goods from Artrageous.
All events run from 11am to 2pm.
The FREE scrap art workshop held at each event means that everyone who attends can learn new skills. The workshop is ideal for playworkers and parents. The workshop is themed to the time of year, so in the summer they will involve learning how to make flags, bunting and streamers for example. In the autumn/winter themes will be Halloween, Diwali and Christmas.
In South Gloucestershire we will be running Create and Play Roadshows providing one Art Workshop and one Creative Play Workshop. These will offer creative things to make and ways to play with the scrap materials.
The Scrapstore Roadshow Project is funded by Bath & NE Somerset Council, North Somerset Council and South Gloucestershire Council |
