Furniture:

  • Happytat - a charity that is run under the LoveBristol charity umbrella and supports local initiatives for tackling addiction and homelessness. They accept donations of furniture and can even come and collect it for free, they must have seen the item in person or through photos before collecting.   • SOFA project - a charity that promotes reuse and relieves poverty. You can donate items to their charity shops or you can arrange a free collection. They also offer house clearances. They have an online enquiry form which you can fill out to make your donation, and you can check their requirements here.

  • Emmaus Bristol - a charity that is tackling to end homelessness in Bristol, and supports those who have been homeless. They accept furniture donations and can collect them for free. They also offer a house clearance and a moving houses service. Fill out this donation enquiry form to make a donation, you can see what their requirements are here.

  • Charity shops – you can drop off smaller furniture items to charity shops, some of them even do collections for bigger items such as British Heart Foundation.

  • Collecteco - this is only for companies to donate, but they can donate their furniture to then be donated to charities, schools, community groups and other non-for profits.

  • Facebook Marketplace - you can list your furniture on Facebook Marketplace for a certain amount of money for people to buy. Usually, the customer will come and collect the item, especially if it’s for a good price. This is also a good alternative if the condition isn’t up to charity standards for their resell shops.

  • Re:work - a social enterprise that supports young people who are struggling in their education by helping them learn new skills and get out into the world. You can donate furniture to them through filling out the form when you click the button on this page.

  • Upholster - if your furniture is still in good condition but just needs a little TLC, you could try upholstering the items.

  • Upcycle - you can give your furniture a new spring in its step by upcycling it.
