Trustee Bulletin

Dear wonderful Scrapstore team,

As we come to the end of another year, we wanted to send the biggest thanks to you all for your kindness, hard work, and dedication to this amazing charity. We really hope you all have a lovely break and a restful time over the holiday season.

Thank you so much for keeping us updated throughout the year with your bulletins. From scrap to the art shop to PlayPods and play, we genuinely enjoy hearing and seeing what’s going on month-to-month, and this knowledge of your day-to-day work is incredibly helpful. It has also been a pleasure to see several of you at our meetings; we truly appreciate you taking the time to help us get to know you and the vital work you do.

Looking at this year's impact report it is clear that we are making a huge difference in reducing waste and empowering play. The numbers speak for themselves, but even more, the happy faces and joyful testimonies from so many people throughout the report show that each person in this team puts their whole heart into our charity aims.

It’s an exciting time for the charity, with lots of plans and positive updates that will take us from strength to strength in terms of sustainability, productivity and making Scrapstore House a welcoming place for all. At the same time, with the current economy making money tighter for everyone, it is a turbulent time for charities across the uk, with lots of unknowns.

We understand that this can come with uncertainty, and we thank you for working with us to always be looking forward and finding the best ways to make our projects grow and thrive. We hope you feel as excited as we are for the years to come.

It has been a productive time for the board as well. We have welcomed four new members over the past two years, bringing fresh perspectives and expertise into the team across fields such as marketing, finance, networking and safeguarding. Thank you for your warm welcome to new and old faces—it is always a joy to visit, see firsthand what’s happening, and, of course, have a good look through the scrap.

On a side note, the warehouse and art shop are looking fabulous, especially with the beautiful new additions to the roof space and the incredible seasonal displays. It remains a magical place to visit every single time.

We continue to be impressed with our social media presence. We all wait with excitement for each “Warehouse Wednesday” to drop and have loved seeing the creative and inspirational ideas being shared as well. It’s so exciting to see collaborations with our lovely partners and watch the likes and shares grow. We know this is hard work, and it is absolutely paying off.
